Craftsbury’s First Library

Craftsbury's first library, made of stone, between the Academy building and the church that serves as the current classroom building.

The building was taken down in 1940 and replaced with a wooden structure (now the Common House) which was less damp. We just learned from a library patron yesterday that at least some of the stones were repurposed for the foundation in Horace Strong's house.
