To Fly Movie on the Common
While we're on the topic of films that were made in Craftsbury, I was teaching at the Academy the day that the crew came to film the opening scene of the To Fly movie (1974?). I was giving a final exam (in French) as just outside on the Common the helicopter filming the scene kept going back and forth. They apparently chose the Common because it looked like a scene out of the 19th century, a church with a beautiful steeple, on a dirt road and no telephone lines.
